Actually back in the 17th-18th century, pink was the cloth colour for BOY babies because people thought it related to blood (which was red) and as a sign of courage and bravery. Blue was actually a colour given to GIRLS because it was thought to be feminine and calming colour. In the 1970's the marketing department decided to switch the two colours for some unknown reason that's why now we ended up with BLUE for boys and PINK for girls.?
